Open House Ministries
OHM provides emergency assistance and spiritual guidance to families and individuals living in the Homestead/Florida City area. Physical needs are addressed through our Food Pantry, Food Co-op, Clothing Closet and Thrift Store. To move beyond crisis intervention, OHM also offers programs for the children and youth of this neighborhood. We provide homework assistance, Bible clubs, worship experiences, field trips, and free summer camp for children and youth.Events, Trainings, or Orientation Dates
Mondays & Wednesdays 2-5PM
OHM needs volunteers to read with the children in our after-school program. The Homework Club meets every Monday and Wednesday from 2 - 5 pm. We believe increasing literacy opens doors of opportunity for our children. After tutoring, the children are invited to stay for the KIX Bible Club, so small group leaders are also needed during this time. All volunteers over 18 must pass a background check and some additional training is required for small group leaders.Thursday Nights
Youth groups, Sunday School classes, and other small groups can host one of our teen nights. Every Thursday night, OHM invites the youth of our neighborhood to a fellowship meal, praise and worship and Bible study.Opportunities & Needs
